RESEARCH AND PRACTICAL TECHNIQUES IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS BENEFITING FROM DOOYEWEERD'S PHILOSOPHY

This website makes opportunities for research and suggestions for practical techniques that benefit from Dooyeweerd's ideas, which have emerged from discussions in the forthcoming book Foundations of Information Systems Research and Practice by Andrew Basden, where over a hundred suggestions have been made. These pages track those suggestions, and add others as they arise. Four groups:

Practical Techniques (example: how to analyse text by aspect)
Suggested Research Projects (ranging form small projects, suggestions for PhD projects, to longer-term research programmes in areas:
- Nature of ICT; artificial intelligence
- ICT use in everyday life or work
- ICT features with which we engage
- ICT and society
- ICT development.
New ways of thinking: paradigms (Dooyeweerd stimulates fresh insights and can enrich existing ones)
Philosophical research and idea-development (to form foundations, to challenge and enrich extant philosophy or Dooyeweerd's philosophy)
